Bell was named to the All Newcomers team as a freshman

Bells sophomore year he lead the nation in total rushing yards in a season (1,067 yards) and yards per game average (151.2). He was the first sophomore to win Missouri Valley Offensive player of the year and the Youngest player to finish 2nd in the history of The Walter Payton Award while also racking up 4 All-American honor awards

Junior year Bell put up 192 rushing yards on the ground against Indiana University and broke the single game rushing record against Drake University putting up 349 rushing yards on the ground.
